Based on videos that you have created and observed, what other ways (beside the video you created) can you envision using video in your finalized learning environment or in your communication areas in general?
- I noticed that in my classroom when I demonstrate a computer drawing skill my students at college level are not good at note taking and I end up repeating same demo sometime several times in same day. It is a waste of my time and I am worried that they say they got the skill then they will go home and try and fail.
- Also I can use these video for student who are not taking my class now.
Some times advanced students want extra projects to work on and I can direct them to the video tutorial and they can teach themselves while I help others.
- I can use video learning in snow days.
How can you keep your videos timely and engaging, without getting too cute?
- I think the production quality has to be good and sharp. Sound and picture and narration. I will by a good microphone for my camera and use better lighting next time.
- I think it is important to be fun and engaging and change format of video now and then.
- I think having links to text under video is a great help.
- Links photo galleries.
- Links to blogs where students can ask questions.
- I think sound and image plus written word are great, I will try to include real life examples to show that the skills are relevant. Also music if used right can make learning fun.
